This article provides answers to commonly asked questions regarding OEM Wallet interchange fees, settlement, reporting, UAT testing and production implementation.

 

✅ Frequently Asked Questions (OEM Wallet Interchange Fees)

 

Why there is a discrepancy and gap from summary and itemised report? Is this related to OEM Wallet transaction?

Effective 2 July 2026, BNM has enforced based on Payment Card Framework Policy Document on OEM Wallet interchange fees of +0.10% (additional 10bps).

PayNet has enabled OEM Wallet interchange fees which is payable from Acquirer to Issuer for transactions MyDebit transactions performed on OEM Wallet which at the moment, is limited only to ApplePay.

ℹ️ This will NOT IMPACT the current settlement process as PayNet had debited Acquirers and credited the additional 0.10% Interchange Fee in our BAU settlement process.

I am unable to view OEM Wallet interchange fees in I01 Itemised Report and where can I view it?

✅ As a Participant, you must enable in your API query by populating oem_interchange_fee in I01 report.

This particular data field allows you to view the OEM Wallet transaction entry that compute the calculation of 0.10% OEM Wallet interchange fees.

You may refer to the naming convention, tag, length and value definition under MyDebit I01 from this MyDebit Specifications .

 

I am unable to view aggregated OEM Wallet interchange fees in Summary Report (S01, S02, D01 and M01) and where can I view it?

Please refer to PayNet Developer Portal under this Summary Report .

✅ These fields enable you to view the total cumulative OEM Wallet transactions of the day and how to compute the calculation of 0.10% OEM Wallet interchange fees.


For an Acquirer, the interchange will be debited for these OEM transactions provisioned with MyDebit.

Other fields for e.g., debit_oem_interchange_fee_tax and debit_oem_interchange_fee_tax_code, both fields have yet to be enforced hence you may reserve these for future use.

ℹ️ Basically, as an Issuer, the aggregated OEM Wallet interchange fee amount will be credited.

Other fields for e.g., credit_oem_interchange_fee_tax and credit_oem_interchange_fee_tax_code, both fields have yet to be enforced hence you may reserve these for future use.

You may refer to the naming convention, tag, length and value definition under MyDebit S01, S02, D01 and M01 from this MyDebit Specifications .

 

After I have enhanced these fields but I am not able to view during UAT, how should I go about?

Is there any sample sandbox for us to test and validate our results?

PayNet UAT is made available and you may carry out the testing.

Should you require to test OEM Wallet, you can reach ask@paynet.my.

❕ You may use the UAT Sandbox environment to perform testing and validate your implementation before production deployment.

We have tested in UAT and works fine however after we have cutover to Production, we were not able to see OEM Wallet fields. What should I do?

⚠️ Ensure your production deployment and report enhancement are successfully migrated and configured before performing production validation.

 

We notice the OEM Wallet interchange fee amount is incorrect and not tally, how to go about?

As an Acquirer but yet to enable OEM Wallet acceptances on my POS terminal and eCommerce, what will happen if I enhance these fields?

OEM Wallet related fields should not have any fees or amount since you have not enabled OEM Wallet on your POS Terminal and eCommerce payment gateway.

✅ Participants may still prepare and enhance the reporting fields to support future OEM Wallet implementation and validation activities.

Pertaining to PayNet mandate, existing acquirer shall enable OEM Wallet acceptances effective on 1 June 2025.

For new acquirer, OEM Wallet is part of the onboarding requirements of PayNet MyDebit.

 

If I do not want to enhance OEM Wallet fields in any of the reports, what will be the consequences?

OEM Wallet interchange fees will not populated in any of the said reports and there will be gaps and variances which as a participants, you ought to calculate the fees manually without proper validation.

⚠️ Failure to enhance the relevant reporting fields may result in reporting discrepancies, manual effort during reconciliation and difficulties in validating OEM Wallet interchange fee calculations.
