The Modernised API Phase 1 specifications were made available on the Developer Portal on 6 February 2025, with phased releases allowing ongoing refinements based on pilot readiness, leading up to the official version launch in August 2025. Participants must engage with their Relationship Managers before commencing development, as the Modernised API is not yet open for industry-wide adoption. Any development undertaken prior to the official release will be at the participant's own risk and PayNet disclaim responsibility for any issues arising from such early development.

New participants must adopt the Modernised API for DuitNow products/services effective from August 2025. Existing participants have the option to continue using their current connections (e.g., TCP/IP or API Direct) if still valid, transition to the Modernised API, or both.
